On the other hand, you should always treat your tenants with respect and listen to what they say openly.

Personally, I have been guilty in the past of being too quick to roll over for tenants. Some of them have taken advantage of that. Although I still try to be understanding and treat people with the benefit of the doubt, I also do not give people the same long leash to take advantage of.
