The now-empty former Kmart at Allen and West roads in Woodhaven now has a serious roof problem after flooding caused part of the roof to collapse, the News-Herald is reporting.
After a pipe burst, water flooded the roof during the recent bitter cold spell. When the water turned to ice, the weakest part of the roof gave way. Since the building is vacant, no one noticed from then until now.
There have been rumors that the site will soon be converted to another use. This latest development may delay that.
