Robbie Krieger's House and Treehouse

Studio: Robby Krieger’s California Home

Robbie Krieger, amazing guitarist from The Doors, gave HGTV a peek inside his southern California home.  Since I am a huge Doors fan going back to my youth, I have to share it with you here.

In his Doors days, Krieger was a popular fan choice for favorite guitar player.  Keep in mind that this was during the same time as Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and Eric Clapton were all playing.  Pretty distinguished company.

Even though Jim Morrison died 40 years ago, Krieger is still playing and making music.  Some of it is based on his past, some of it is more creative.  It should be no surprise that his home includes a studio (pictured above), but what is more surprising is that Krieger is building a new studio somewhere else because he thinks it will fit into his lifestyle better to not have his studio at home.

But back to the house.  Lots of wood.  His wife mostly picks out the decor, but there is a healthy amount of band memorabilia on the walls.

Finally, we get to the treehouse.  Krieger really likes the one he had built on his property, which is a redwood geodesic dome.
